In our helical pier training, we not only focus not only on how to install them but also on the testing done before, during, and after installation to make sure they can solve the building’s foundation problems.
Classroom Training
Before going out onto a job site, our trained technicians will explain all of the technical aspects and calculations that go into installing helical piers.
Those include:
- When to use helical piers, also known as helical piles or helical anchors
- The mechanical strength of steel for flights and shafts
- Reading soil borings and learning what they mean in relation to installing the piers
- Different types of equipment used to determine foot pounds
- Load calculations, including the difference between working loads and ultimate loads
- The theoretical bearing capacity formula and how it works
Job Site Helical Training
Then, we will go out to train on the actual installation of helicals on a job site, going from the first excavation to attaching the piers to the house. See the equipment used to screw the piers into the ground, along with calculating their load-bearing as they are installed.
The training will also go into installing helical tiebacks for wall repair.
