Featured Job Friday: Introducing Foundation Professionals of Colorado
ECP is proud to join forces with Foundation Professionals of Colorado!
We had to share the kind of work that Chad Miller and his team are doing in and around Colorado Springs, Colorado. We are featuring their work for Featured Job Friday this week. Chad provided us with great details about the project and make sure to check out the photos and video.
The home in this project was experiencing severe differential settlement. It was literally split in half and had slid 2 inches in addition to the 5.5 inches of settlement with 2.5 inch wide gaps on the hinge cracks. The walkout level garage wall had tipped outward to the point of needing replacement. After Foundation Professionals of Colorado cut the tipping wall from the rest of the house, they were able to lift the remaining wing walls 4.75 inches. They did this by utilizing 13 ECP Push Piers that was driven to a depth of 27 feet each. If you watch the video below you can see this process as it happened!
Then they locked the cracks in the foundation with carbon fiber staples in both the front and back. The remaining front of the home was stabilized with ECP Resistance Piers and 2 egress windows were cored and installed along with new wells for the egress windows. The retaining wall that lined up with the tipping garage wall was experiencing severe failure and was also leaning. The team was able to stabilize the wall with two ECP Earth Anchors that were driven 16 feet and then sistered a new wall on the exposed side with shotscrete so it would appear straight again.
A new garage wall was poured and the weight of the home was set back on the new wall. The results of the repair exceeded the customer’s expectations and they were beyond thrilled. Chad said that they were amazed at the ability of the ECP products and the power that allowed them to truly reach load bearing strata. They lifted the foundation through seven feet of soil without having to excavate the wall from the outside first. Chad said that the team had never experienced the kind of control and power that ECP’s manifold lifting set-up provided. Like the customer, he says that their expectations were also exceeded.
A New Partnership Formed
Chad thanked us, but we would sincerely like to thank him and the team at Foundation Professionals of Colorado for their amazing efforts. We expect to see great things from them in the years to come! It truly was a partnership that made this project happen!
