Earth Contact Products offers five different systems to take care of all your water management needs. These systems have been designed and engineered with the waterproofing professional and the end user in mind. These systems are "The Very Best" waterproofing systems on the market today. Our systems include, Exterior Waterproofing, Interior Waterproofing, Crawl Space Encapsulation, Surface Drainage/Water Collection and Crack Injection repair.
Exterior waterproofing is true waterproofing. You need to stop the water from collecting around the foundation where it causes problems. Moisture is transferred from the outside of the building to the basement interior by four primary mechanisms. First, water flow. Water takes the path of least resistance, if this is into your basement, then that is where the water will flow. Second, capillary action. Concrete is a porous material, it is very hard yet porous. Think of capillary action being like a wick. As concrete sets in water, this water is absorbed by the concrete until it becomes complete saturated and then disperses moisture and water vapor to the inside of the home.
The most effective of the interior drainage systems is a perforated drain pipe installed inside the perimeter of the footing. Not only are these the most popular systems, they are also building code approved when installed correctly. This requires removing and replacing concrete around the slab edge. By placing the drain pipe beneath the slab, it drains the area to a lower level. Similar to an exterior system, this drainage pipe connects to a sump pump system.
Crawl Space Encapsulation
Crawl space vapor barriers reduce energy costs and protects against moisture, mold, radon and unwanted pests. Crawlspace encapsulation techniques will provide a clean storage environment in your crawlspace while decreasing moisture and increasing the overall energy efficiency of your home.
Crack Injection Repair
Epoxy crack injection is known as concrete welding. The bond that epoxy creates becomes stronger than the basement walls themselves. Epoxy products also have the inherent ability to fill even the smallest of wall cracks. Low viscosity epoxies penetrate all the way through basement wall ruptures ensuring a complete repair. Polyurethane crack repair has an unique advantage of epoxies repairs due to the fact that it remains flexible. If you experience slight foundation movements, polyurethanes will flex and still keep the crack sealed from water. While they have almost zero compressive strength, polyurethanes are very popular for basement wall repairs.
Surface Drainage/Water Collection
ECP provides storm water management solutions for every environment and need, leading to the development of superior quality drainage products for a wide variety of residential and non-residential applications. Product line includes a range of trench and channels drains, conventional drains, catch basins and grates; the well established Flo-Well and EZ Flow product ranges and water discharge emitters.
