ECP epoxies are used to structurally repair a concrete foundation crack and to also stop water from entering a concrete crack. The cured epoxy will completely fill the concrete crack and return the wall to its pre-cracked strength. The high tensile strength, bonding strength and compressive strength make epoxies excellent for reinforcing concrete cracks. Many times the repaired concrete crack is stronger than the concrete around it.
Polyurethane foam injection is ideal for filling active and wider cracks. ECP Polyurethane foams work well for filling voids or sealing around pipes and other penetrations. Injection polyurethane foams is generally done to stop water leaks, even actively leaking walls, and cracks in walls that may still move. These seasonal movements can be absorbed by ECP Polyurethane injections due to its flexible nature.
Injecting ECP polyurethane foam is the best way to stop an active foundation wall leak. Once in the concrete crack, it begins to foam inside the basement crack. The expanding foam completely fills the basement crack and prevents future water leaks. Water will now remain outside of the basement wall and not be able to penetrate into the interior.
